Lights of Esperanza takes place each year on the campus of TAMU-San Antonio. All things holiday can be enjoyed across the school grounds, such as ice skating and snow sliding, in anticipation of illuminating nearly every block with beautiful holiday lighting. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of San Antonio North was called upon to design and install special event holiday lighting for Lights of Esperanza – which can appropriately be translated to Lights of Hope. ‘Tis the season!

The origin of Christmas lighting dates back to the 17th century, where instead of strings of LED lighting, candles were the vehicle to providing holiday observance. Candles were attached to Christmas trees inside homes (Worth noting: the fire extinguisher was not invented until the 19th century), and also placed in windows, which let other Christian holiday observers know that their fellowship was welcome in that home.
